Preparing a report for the Military Medical Commission (MMC): Procedure and Legal Aspects

Passing the Military Medical Commission (MMC) is an important stage for servicemen and women subject to military service. The report for undergoing a military medical examination is an official document in which a serviceman or conscript expresses his or her desire to undergo a medical examination to determine his or her fitness for military service.

Grounds for preparing the report

A report for a VLC can be submitted for various reasons. The main grounds are the need to confirm the state of health, establish fitness for military service or determine the need for medical treatment. Servicemen who experience a deterioration in their health or suspect a disease that may affect their ability to perform their duties may submit a report for a VLC.

Other grounds may include routine medical examinations, which are conducted periodically for all military personnel, or in cases where a person is subject to conscription and must undergo a medical examination to determine his or her fitness for service.

Procedure for submitting a report

An application for a VLC must be made in writing and contain clear and specific information about the reasons for the application. The document is usually addressed to the commander of the military unit or the head of the relevant military command and control body. The report should include personal data, including full name, military rank, position, as well as a brief description of the health condition or the grounds for undergoing a VLC.

• Addressee: Surname, name, patronymic of the commander or supervisor
   
• Main part: Description of the reason for the report, indication of symptoms or disease
