Passing MSEK

A certificate from the Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEK) is required for military personnel to receive cash assistance and other benefits. This document confirms the presence of a disability and the percentage of a person's loss of working capacity, if any. Changes in determining the causal relationship of disability and the degree of loss of working capacity by former servicemen will now be carried out on the basis of a resolution of the VLK, issued by a certificate of the VLK, a certificate of illness or the minutes of a meeting of the regular VLK.

Determining the degree of incapacitation of a serviceman/servicewoman will be carried out by the commission after completion of treatment. Based on medical data, the commission will develop a program of medical, professional and social rehabilitation.

The Ministry of Health emphasized that medical and social examination is available regardless of the place of residence. A referral to MSE can be obtained extraterritorially by contacting a health care facility (at the place of treatment or to a family doctor), where the necessary documents will be prepared.
