The issue of changes or the creation of new professions on the territory of Ukraine becomes quite relevant every year. The progress of IT technologies increasingly requires the official recognition of new professions, which will be fixed at the legal level. This also applies to those professions that are in demand in the conditions of martial law, because here we are talking about the importance of helping society and fighting the consequences of military aggression. Yes, changes were recently made to the Classifier of Professions in Ukraine. Thus, according to the information of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, forty-two more professions were added to this document, including the health care, financial, social and IT spheres.
Deputy Minister of Economy Tetyana Berezhna stated that the list of professions should be updated according to the needs of the labor market and the requirements of time. It should be noted that numerous changes have been made to the IT field, as twenty-nine more professions have been added here, which are currently quite relevant on the labor market and are needed by employers. In addition, it should be noted that new professions in the financial and medical spheres were also added (the profession of prosthetist-orthetist appeared). And the continuation of the martial law determined that those professions related to the elimination of war consequences are also relevant at the moment. Yes, such a profession as demining specialist was added to the Classifier.
Speaking about the addition of 29 positions in the field of IT, it should be said that the proposals of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine were also included here. Thus, as of today, web resource administrator, artificial intelligence engineer, mobile application analyst, software architecture developer, AI developer, electronic communications security specialist, and other new types of IT professions should be defined as official professions. In addition, some types of professions in the IT industry were brought into line with modern realities. Thus, the profession "computer data bank analyst" turned into "data analyst", and the profession "computer software engineer" will henceforth be called "software engineer".
In addition, it should be said that in addition to the addition of new types of professions, some types of professions, which are currently considered to have an outdated name, were also removed. Yes, such profession titles as "system programmer" or "application programmer" were removed. It is also worth paying attention to the fact that some types of professions became in demand in wartime conditions, which is why such professions as "prosthetist-orthologist" or "operator of the 112 service" were added to the Classifier.
Also considered to be new types of professions are "on-duty unit of the operational and rescue service of the Central Military District (Civil Defense)" or "expert in demining". Also, when analyzing the changes made, one should also mention the "auditor by type of activity" or "financial analyst". Thus, as of today, the Ukrainian Classifier of Professions contains 9,172 names of professions, and their names of jobs or positions, occupations are systematized into certain professional groups in accordance with their nature, qualifications and systematization, which meets the requirements for the International Standard Classification of Occupations.
