- A military ID card is an official document confirming a person's status as a conscript or reservist. It is the main document for the registration of conscripts in Ukraine and provides information on:
Personal data: full name, date of birth, place of residence.- Military status: information about military service, military rank, position, military specialty, as well as information about the mobilization reserve.
- State of health: results of medical examinations that determine fitness for military service.
Postponements or exemptions from conscription: notes on the presence of postponements or exemptions from mobilization for various reasons (for example, due to health, presence of dependents).
Question
Why do you need a military ID?
Answer
During mobilization: for registration, enlistment and confirmation of the status of conscript. To obtain deferment or exemption: the military ID card may contain notations for deferment from mobilization or exemption from the draft under certain circumstances. Upon employment: some employers require a military ID to confirm the employee's record.
To obtain a military ticket, you must register at the territorial recruitment and social support center (TCC). If the military card is lost, it can be restored by applying to the TCC with a corresponding application.
The procedure for issuing a military ticket:
- Preparation of documents: usually, to obtain a military ticket, the following documents are required: passport of a citizen of Ukraine (original and copy), identification code (original and copy), certificate from the place of study or work (if necessary), photographs (usually 3×4 cm, quantity may vary), a medical certificate about the state of health.
- Appeal to the TCC and SP: it is necessary to apply to the territorial recruitment and social support center (former military commissariat) at the place of registration or residence. A conscript goes through his first registration right there.
- Passing a medical board: at the beginning of the procedure, a conscript is usually sent to a medical board. It will determine suitability for military service. The results of the medical examination are recorded, and on their basis it is determined whether the citizen is fit for service.
- Military registration case: after passing the medical commission and submitting all the necessary documents, a military registration case is established for the citizen. Data about him are entered in the register of conscripts.
- Issuing a military card: if all stages are successfully completed, TCC employees prepare a military card. The manufacturing and delivery process may take several weeks.
- Obtaining a military ID: after completing all the formalities, the conscript receives a military ID, which should be kept and presented when necessary.
If you have lost your military card or you need to restore it, you should apply to the TCC with the relevant application and supporting documents about the loss, and also go through repeated procedures, which will be established by the collection center.
Obtaining a deferment from mobilization without a military ID can be difficult, since the military ID is the main document that confirms the status of a conscript. However, if you do not have a military ID, there are several possible ways to resolve this issue:
- Issuing a military ID: If you have not yet received a military ID, the first step is to contact the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC). You may be issued a temporary document confirming your registration as a conscript.
- Documents confirming registration with the TCC: if the military card is lost or you do not have it for some reason, based on the data entered in the TCC register, another document can be issued that confirms your status as a conscript (for example, an extract from the registration) . Such a document may be the basis for a postponement.
- Applying to the TCC for a deferment: After receiving or confirming your registration, you can apply for a deferment. Reasons for postponement can be different — from health to the presence of dependents.
- Medical indications: if you want to get a deferment based on your health, you need to undergo a medical examination at the TCC commission or a medical institution, which will determine your condition and, if necessary, issue a deferment based on illness or injury.
