Regarding the recalculation of pensions: clarification of the PFU
On the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Resolution No. 185 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of February 23, 2024, "On Indexation of Pension and Insurance Payments and Additional Measures to Increase the Level of Social Protection of the Most Vulnerable Population in 2024" (hereinafter - Resolution No. 185), which provides for the implementation of indexation of pensions, an increase in the amount of minimum disability pensions for former servicemen and victims of the Chernobyl disaster, an increase in the level of minimum pension payments for certain age categories of pensioners.
Important:
The indexation coefficient is 1.0796.
The indexation date is March 1, 2024.
Pensions appointed up to and including December 31, 2023 are subject to indexation.
Among the main novelties, the following should be highlighted:
1. The indicator of the average salary in Ukraine, with which it was paid
insurance premiums and taken into account for the calculation of pensions appointed in accordance with:
- Law of Ukraine dated July 9, 2003 No. 1058-IV "O
mandatory state pension insurance" (hereinafter - Law No. 1058)
- Law of Ukraine of February 28, 1991 No. 796-XII "On the status and
social protection of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster" (hereinafter - Law No. 796);
- Law of Ukraine dated April 9, 1992 No. 2262-XII "On pension
provision of persons discharged from military service and certain other persons" (hereinafter Law No. 2262) - to persons from conscript military service.
The rules for indexation are determined by the resolution of the CMU of February 20, 2019 No. 124 "Question of indexation of pensions in 2019".A monthly supplement of UAH 100 is established for pensions appointed in accordance with Law No. 1058, the amount of which does not increase after indexation.
2. The amount of pensions appointed in accordance with Art. 13, 21 and 36 of the Law
No. 2262 (except for conscripts) taking into account the indexation rates established from March 1, 2023.
3. Minimum amounts of disability pensions for persons with disabilities

4. Minimum amounts of pensions for the resulting disability
injuries or diseases due to the Chernobyl disaster;
5. Pensions for special services to Ukraine, established
rehabilitated fighters for the independence of Ukraine in the 20th century in the amount of UAH 4,200.
6. Amounts of pensions appointed in accordance with:
- Law of Ukraine dated December 10, 2015 No. 889-VIII "On State
service";
- Law of Ukraine dated June 7, 2001 No. 2493-III "On service in local self-government bodies";
- Law of Ukraine of November 17, 1992 No. 2790-XII "On the status of the People's Deputy of Ukraine".
- Law of Ukraine dated November 26, 2015 No. 848-VIII "On scientific and scientific and technical activity".
It is important that the size of the pension of non-working pensioners who have reached the age of 65 and receive a pension appointed in accordance with Law No. 1058, who have an insurance record of 35 years for men and 30 years for women, cannot be lower than UAH 3,370.
The size of the pension increase as a result of the above-mentioned recalculations cannot be less than UAH 100. and more than 1500 UAH.
Recalculation of pensions from March 1, 2024 will be carried out without additional appeals by pensioners, according to the materials of pension cases.
