The death of Ukrainian soldiers is a great tragedy for the entire Ukrainian people. These best Ukrainian soldiers give their lives defending their country, freedom and independence. Their sacrifices and courage will never be forgotten, and they will always be honored as heroes who stood in defense of their Motherland. Ukraine honors its fallen soldiers and provides support to their families at this difficult time. Their contribution to the peace and security of Ukraine will always be immeasurable and unappreciated.
The procedure for obtaining compensation for the families of war dead reflects the importance of documenting and officially confirming the events that occurred. This helps ensure transparency and correct distribution of compensation funds. Such procedures help to avoid possible misunderstandings and ensure that aid reaches those who are really entitled to it.
This is an important step to support families of military personnel who lost loved ones while defending the Motherland. Such compensation can significantly ease the financial burden faced by families in such difficult situations. It is also a recognition of the contribution of those who died in the defense of the country, and this support can help ensure their dignity and well-being. The corresponding payments are specified in the resolution of the CMU No. 168 "Issues of certain payments to military personnel, rank and file officers, police officers and their families during martial law".

Payments to military personnel and their families are provided for by the norms of current Ukrainian legislation.
The following documents may be required to receive benefits for the death of a serviceman in Ukraine:
Death certificate of a military man issued by a military commissariat or a military unit.
Documents that confirm family ties with the deceased soldier, such as:
Copies of passports of family members (wife/husband, children, parents, other relatives).
A copy of the marriage certificate (if available).
Copies of children's birth certificates (if available).
Certificates of residence registration of family members.
A copy of the identification code certificate or a copy of the passport page with a note on its absence.
Other documents that may be required in accordance with the requirements of a specific program or legislation that regulates the provision of assistance to the families of fallen military personnel in Ukraine.
These documents should be submitted to the appropriate government agencies or organizations that provide assistance to the families of fallen military personnel in order to obtain compensation and other types of support.
Determination of relatives (relatives) who are entitled to assistance in the event of the death of a serviceman in Ukraine:
Parents: Parents of a fallen serviceman are entitled to assistance. Spouse who did not remarry: This means that a family member who was the spouse of a deceased service member and did not remarry may also be eligible for benefits.
Minor children (under 18): This includes children who are minors at the time of the service member's death.
Dependents (persons who are assigned a survivor's pension): These can be children aged 18 to 23 who study at a full-time educational institution, as well as persons with disabilities who receive a survivor's pension.
The distribution of places for submitting documents to receive assistance for the families of fallen servicemen in Ukraine depends on the military formation in which they served. Here are two main situations:
Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU): For families of fallen servicemen who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, documents are submitted to the regional territorial recruitment center regardless of the place of registration.
Other military formations: For families of fallen servicemen who served in other military formations (such as the National Guard, SBU, Foreign Intelligence Service, and others), documents are submitted directly to these formations.
This simplifies the process of submitting documents and ensures that the families of fallen servicemen can apply directly to the relevant authorities for assistance.
