Departure abroad. Border escort: border crossing rules and restrictions for men
Crossing a border is an important part of a journey for anyone, but there may be additional rules and restrictions for men, especially in times of war or new rules for crossing borders with the European Union.
Border crossing rules for men: Conditions and restrictions
Ukraine has its own rules and conditions for crossing the border, which men should follow when leaving the country. These conditions may include the presentation of necessary documents, such as a passport and visa, as well as compliance with established restrictions, which may result from the specifics of a particular border or the presence of temporary restrictions on the right to travel outside of Ukraine.
Escort at the border and crossing the Polish border: New rules and conditions
Special attention should be paid to crossing borders with European Union countries, in particular, the Polish border. Changes in EU border crossing rules may affect crossing conditions for men. The new rules may include additional restrictions or document requirements.
Ukraine remains in a state of general mobilization and martial law. Despite the general travel ban for men aged 18 to 60, there are 11 categories of people who can cross the border.
In general, in order to leave Ukraine, you need to have the following documents: a passport of a citizen of Ukraine, an international passport, a "Green Card" insurance policy (in the case of traveling by car), birth certificates for children.
But for men, depending on their category, additional documents may be required.In addition, different categories of men have the right to unimpeded border crossing:
those who are abroad and between the ages of 18 and 60;
those excluded (removed) from military registration aged 18 to 60;
those who have permission to travel abroad due to their health;
men of the same age category who may cross the border due to family circumstances (for example, if accompanying a disabled close relative);
persons aged from 18 to 60 years, for whom crossing the border is related to professional activity (for example, sailors, diplomats, drivers).
In general, the possibility of legal departure from Ukraine for men may be available to more than 20 categories of persons.
Among the main reasons for crossing the border for men of mobilization age are the following:
Support of disabled persons of I and II groups from relatives of the first degree of consanguinity (parents, children, spouse), as well as persons who need constant care.
Support of a disabled wife.
Disability of a person who crosses the border.
Departure for medical treatment.
Professional activities, including civil servants on business trips, athletes at competitions, diplomats, military personnel undergoing training abroad, pilots, railway workers, etc.
Providing assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (volunteering), which may include drivers transporting volunteer aid, artists and artists raising funds for the army, and others.
In general, all these reasons are clearly defined in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 57, and each case may have its own peculiarities.Therefore, it is recommended to carefully familiarize yourself with the text of the resolution and look for the appropriate clause in each specific case.
