From April 1, the amount of compensation payments to employers will increase
From April 1, 2024, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine dated November 9, 2023 No. 3460-IX "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024", the minimum wage in Ukraine will increase to 8 thousand hryvnias. In connection with this, the size of some payments related to the field of employment, the size of which is coordinated with the minimum wage, will change.
An increase in the minimum wage in Ukraine will affect the amount of compensation payments to employers
1. Yes, the amount of compensation for the employment of people with disabilities, participants in hostilities, those who have no more than 5 years left before the right to pension due to age and citizens who are in the status of registered unemployed for more than 1 month will now amount to UAH 8,000 (50 % of actual labor costs, but not more than the minimum wage). The duration of such compensation is 6 months for each odd month of the employee's work.
2. Compensation for employment of young people from among the registered unemployed (under the age of 25 - with less than 12 months of insurance experience; under the age of 35 - for the first job; those released from term military / alternative service - for the first job) will increase up to UAH 4,000 (no more than 50 percent of the minimum wage). The duration of such compensation is 6 months for each odd month of the employee's work.
3.Compensation for employment of citizens who are in the status of registered unemployed for more than 1 month and have additional guarantees in employment, or those who are in the status of registered unemployed for more than 6 months will increase to UAH 3,520 (no more than double the amount of the minimum insurance contribution, which is 22% from the minimum wage). The duration of such compensation is 12 months for each odd month of the employee's work
4. Compensation for the employment of internally displaced persons during martial law from April 1, 2024 will amount to UAH 8,000 (1 minimum wage for a fully completed monthly (hourly) work rate). The duration of such compensation is no more than 3 months, for people with disabilities no more than 6 months.
At the same time, the compensation of the employer's expenses for the wages of those employed on the referral of IDP employment centers will increase to UAH 16,000 (not higher than two times the minimum wage or the corresponding amount calculated from it in the case when the person worked part-time). The duration of such compensation is 6 months, for persons who have additional guarantees in employment - 12 months for each odd month.
The amount of assistance in connection with partial unemployment
The amount of assistance in connection with partial unemployment per employee or FOP will also increase - up to UAH 4,000 (not higher than 50% of the minimum wage). The duration of such assistance is no more than 180 calendar days in total within 36 months.The maximum salary for participation in community service will also increase and from April 1 will amount to UAH 12,000 per month (no more than one and a half of the minimum wage for a fully completed monthly (hourly) work rate).
For reference. Since the beginning of 2024, 295 capital employers have used the compensation programs of the Kyiv Medical Center, which received payments in the amount of more than UAH 7 million.
