Application for marriage registration: You must submit an application for marriage registration to the civil registry office. This is usually done in the registration department of the local state administration.
Translation of documents: If any of your documents are in a language other than Ukrainian, you may need to have them translated into Ukrainian and notarized.
Marriage registration: After submitting an application for marriage registration and checking all the necessary documents, you will receive permission to enter into a marriage.
Marriage ceremony: After obtaining permission, you can enter into marriage. This can take place in a standard ceremony at a civil registry office or in a church depending on your choice.
Obtaining a marriage certificate: After the ceremony, you will be issued a marriage certificate that confirms your official marriage.

Marrying a foreigner during the war in Ukraine can be simplified under some circumstances. Since the war situation poses a danger to people's lives and safety, the government can take additional measures to facilitate the marriage process.
This is a completely reasonable and important step to ensure the safety and protection of citizens in times of war. Such an algorithm of actions allows speeding up the process of marriage registration and ensuring the safety of a couple that is under threat due to martial law. Here are a few points that can be highlighted:
The couple submits an application to the RACS department for marriage registration.
After the application is submitted, the marriage registration date is set, which can take place 2-3 days after the application is submitted.The RATS department sends a request to the State Migration Service of Ukraine to check the legality of a foreigner's stay on the territory of Ukraine and receives a conclusion.
After a positive conclusion on the legality of the foreigner's stay, the marriage is registered, marriage with a foreigner and a marriage certificate is issued.
An important note is that only one copy of the marriage certificate is issued during martial law. This can be important in the context of ensuring the couple's privacy and security during martial law.
