The pension system in Ukraine provides social protection for citizens in certain life situations, such as reaching retirement age, disability, loss of the breadwinner and other circumstances. Let's have a look at the main types of pensions and their features.
Old-age pension
Ukrainian legislation provides citizens with the right to receive an old-age pension in accordance with the established procedure. This age is usually 60 years for men and 58 years for women. Survivor's pension
This pension is provided to people who have lost a breadwinner - a person who was their main source of income, such as a husband, wife, or parents. The amount of the survivor's pension is determined in accordance with the law and depends on the number and complexity of the circumstances.
In order to receive a survivor's pension, you must have the status of a family member of the deceased and submit relevant documents confirming the fact of the death of the breadwinner and the status of a family member. The amount of the pension depends on various factors, including the deceased's income and family composition.
The survivor's pension is only one of the special forms of social support that the state can provide. In addition to the pension, the family may be entitled to other social benefits, privileges, and assistance from government and charitable organisations.
Other types of pensions
In addition to the above-mentioned types of pensions, there are other types of pensions, such as social pension and war survivor's pension. These types of pensions are granted based on special criteria and circumstances, in accordance with the law.
