The system of higher education in Ukraine is based on several levels that allow students to acquire the necessary knowledge and qualifications for the chosen profession. In this article, we will consider the levels of higher education in Ukraine and their main features.
Levels of higher education
1. Bachelor
The bachelor's level is the basic level of higher education in Ukraine. It involves training at the level of general and professional training, which usually lasts 3-4 years. Students receive basic knowledge in their specialty and develop skills necessary for starting professional activities. After completing their studies, students receive a bachelor's degree, which allows them to continue their studies at the next levels or start a professional career.
2. Master's degree
The master's level is the next step after the bachelor's degree and involves a more in-depth study of the chosen specialty. Training usually lasts 1-2 years. 3. Doctor of philosophy
The level of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is the highest level of higher education in Ukraine. It involves in-depth study of the specialty and conducting scientific research. Studies usually last 3-4 years, during which students work on a doctoral dissertation. After defending the thesis, students receive the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
4. Doctor of Science
The level of Doctor of Sciences is the highest scientific degree in Ukraine and involves conducting independent scientific research aimed at the development of the chosen field of knowledge. This level is obtained after obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy. In order to obtain the degree of Doctor of Sciences, it is necessary to successfully defend a doctoral dissertation, which must have high scientific value and original research results.
