Any soldier will tell you that a volunteer who brings dozens of FPVs is no less valuable than an infantryman on the ground," Victor Andrusiv
"On the difference between participation and indulgence. One of the biggest problems of our time is to level everyone with the same brush. If a soldier is a hero, then he is a traitor if he went to Europe. In reality, there are a lot of different scum among the military who can run away, steal ammunition and kill a poli-ceman at a checkpoint, and among those who left, there are a lot of people who buy cars, drones, donate, etc. However, these polarities destroy and devalue a lot of good and right things on both sides," writes political analyst Viktor Andrusiv on his Telegram channel.
"A woman in Poland shouts: "Why does my husband have to serve? Serve yourself, f**k you," and we are all outraged by this fact. And at the same time, we immediately devalue all those millions of dollars of assistance provided by our people in Europe. It was even more important when thousands of Ukrainians went to rallies and put pressure on foreign governments to provide aid. In the spring of 2022, when we practically had no more than 10 days of ammunition, this played a special role in turning the war around. So where is the line by which we can judge?
For me, this line is the difference between participation and indulgence. Yes, not everyone can become an attack aircraft or a pilot. After all, not everyone can become a soldier, although there is definitely a place for everyone in the Armed Forces. However, absolutely everyone can participate and contribute to our vic-tory. Believe me, any military man will tell you that today a volunteer who brings dozens of FPVs is no less valuable than an infantryman on the ground. Any volunteer will tell you that a person who donates at least 10 thousand hryvnias per month or just 40-50% of his income is no less valuable than a volunteer who travels to the front line and brings FPV. Therefore, to find your place in the war is to participate in it, to bring victory closer, even if not in pixels.
Participation is about sacrifice, about limiting yourself in some way. An IT guy I know sold his car and do-nated the entire amount to the Armed Forces because he decided to give up his car until the war was over. In 2022, one of the most active drivers in our Cars for the Front initiative was Anastasia Burmistrova, who took her son with her every week and took the car to the front. Therefore, if each of us starts to limit ourselves and participate in something, our opportunities will grow tenfold. In the end, many may have to make the decision to join the military sooner or later. Not everyone who took up arms in February 2022 would have done so if the orcs had only attacked Avdiivka.
However, when a person shouts: "Let the deputies fight," "The country has given me nothing," "It's eno-ugh that I pay taxes," they are talking about an indulgence. A person comes up with an argument to justify his cowardice instead of finding his place in the war. Such a person does not increase our chances of vic-tory and, what is the funniest thing, does not increase their chances of a normal life. When I see how hap-py some fugitive who fled to Europe is, I frankly sympathize with him, because I have seen the life of Eu-ropean immigrants. Living on the outskirts of gangster neighborhoods, working as a loader or in the fields, not having a chance to own a home all your life. To be disenfranchised in countries where the far-right is winning with anti-immigrant rhetoric is a disgusting life. There are more chances to stay alive, but very few to live normally.
Since the time of the ancient Greeks, states have been created by citizens who take responsibility for participating in their existence. Today, in the most difficult time for our country, each of us is determined whether he or she is a citizen or not. And this definition will work not only at this moment, but also after the war, in which we have already defended the existence of our state one way or another."
Thus, we can see that the adopted amendments to the current law were adopted taking into account the changes in the requirements of the time and the imposed martial law in Ukraine, as well as the fact that a legal analysis of the situation, analysis of documents and verification of documents by a lawyer and a legal opinion were conducted.
