Persons with disabilities in Ukraine have the right to full socio-economic, political, personal rights and freedoms, which are enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine, laws of Ukraine and international treaties, the binding consent of which has been given by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
This includes the right to life, inviolability of personal life and privacy, freedom of thought and expression, the right to education, work, participation in cultural life and many other rights that are integral to a dignified and fulfilling life for every person.
The legislation of Ukraine is aimed at ensuring the protection of these rights and guarantees their fulfillment for persons with disabilities.
Ukraine provides a number of labor benefits for persons with disabilities in order to ensure their right to work and social integration. Here are some of them:
1. Quota for employment: the law of Ukraine provides for a quota for employment of persons with disabilities in state, communal and private enterprises. This quota establishes a mandatory number of vacancies that must be filled by disabled people.
2. Vocational and technical rehabilitation: disabled persons have the right to receive free or discounted vocational and technical rehabilitation, which will help them acquire the necessary skills for employment or retraining.
3. Special working conditions: employers are obliged to create special working conditions for the disabled, in particular, to use compensatory technologies and to adapt the workplace to the needs of a specific employee with a disability.
4. Additional leaves: disabled persons may be entitled to additional leaves for recuperation or medical examination.5. Preferential employment conditions: the law provides for a variety of preferential employment conditions for the disabled, including preferential pay rates and other benefits.
These labor benefits are intended to support disabled people in their professional development and integration into society by providing access to work.
According to the current legislation, disabled persons may be granted annual leave of full duration until six months of continuous work at the given enterprise. This means that a disabled person can use the full period of annual leave even in the first year of work at the company, if he so wishes.
This benefit is aimed at supporting disabled people and giving them the opportunity to rest and recover from work efforts. This is an important aspect of social protection that contributes to maintaining the health and general well-being of disabled people.
Disabled persons of groups I and II are entitled to 30 calendar days of paid rest each year, and disabled persons of group III are entitled to a vacation lasting 26 calendar days annually.
This benefit is one of many social measures aimed at supporting and improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities. It provides an opportunity to rest and recover from work, which is important for maintaining health and psychological well-being.
In Ukraine, transport services for persons with disabilities are provided on preferential terms in order to ensure their mobility and accessibility to various places.
This may include benefits such as:
1.Free or reduced fare: People with disabilities may be entitled to free or reduced fare on public transport, including buses, trolleybuses, trams and the metro.
