REST DURING WORK
According to the legislation of Ukraine, rest time is an important part of labor relations and is regulated by the Constitution of Ukraine, the Code of Labor Laws of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine "On Vacations", as well as other normative legal acts.
BASIC PROVISIONS ON REST TIME
Breaks during the working day. Employees are given a break for rest and food lasting no more than two hours, which, as a rule, is not included in working hours.
Daily rest. Breaks between shifts to allow workers sufficient time to recover.
Weekend. Provided to all employees, this is usually Sunday and one other day in the case of a five-day work week.
Holidays and non-working days. The days when employees are released from work are determined by law.
Holidays Paid annual leave, as well as other types of leave that may be granted in accordance with the law.
The Constitution of Ukraine guarantees the right to rest, and this right includes the provision of weekly rest days, paid annual leave, the establishment of reduced working hours for certain professions and industries, as well as reduced working hours at night.
The minimum duration of rest and paid annual leave, weekends and holidays, as well as other conditions for exercising the right to rest are determined by law.
COMPENSATION FOR WORK ON WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS
Compensation for work on weekends and holidays in Ukraine is regulated by the Labor Code of Ukraine (Labor Code).Working on a day off: For working on a day off, employees may be given another day of rest or double compensation in cash.
Payment for work on holidays: Payment for work on holidays and non-working days is made in the amount of a single hourly or daily rate in addition to the salary, if the work on these days was carried out within the limits of the monthly time norm, and in the amount of a double rate, if the work was carried out in excess of the monthly rate norm
Conditions during martial law: It is worth noting that during martial law, some provisions of the Labor Code may temporarily not apply, and compensation for work on weekends may be regulated by special laws.
