Registration of residence permit in EU countries. In today's world, many Ukrainians are looking for opportunities to obtain a residence permit in other countries in order to improve their situation and ensure stability for themselves and their families. One such country is Estonia, which offers a variety of programs for immigrants, including citizens of Ukraine. In this article, we will consider the procedure for obtaining a residence permit in Estonia for Ukrainians, legal aspects and requirements that must be met.
Estonia is a dynamically developed Baltic country that is a member of the European Union and NATO. Its stable economy, modern technologies and safe environment make this state an attractive destination for Ukrainians in wartime conditions. For long-term legal stay, citizens of Ukraine need to issue a residence permit in Estonia. Let's consider the main ways of obtaining it.
1. Temporary residence permit for refugees
Estonia introduced temporary protection for Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to the war. In order to obtain an appropriate residence permit for a period of up to 1 year (with the possibility of extension), it is necessary to apply to the Department of Police and Border Protection within 90 days after entry. It is necessary to provide identity documents, a certificate of refugee status and fingerprints.
2. Work for hire
One of the most common ways to get a residence permit is to work for an Estonian company. For this, it is necessary to have an employment contract with a term of at least 1 year, an employment permit from the Employment Code, a certificate of education/qualification, a health insurance policy and proof of income for living.
3. Opening a business
Ukrainian entrepreneurs can register their own company or become self-employed in Estonia and issue a residence permit on this basis. It will be necessary to provide a business plan, documents about investments, commercial activities, health insurance and income level.
4. Training
A special student residence permit is provided for students of accredited Estonian universities and colleges. To get it, you need to have a certificate of enrollment, proof of financial support and a health insurance policy.
5. Financial independence
Estonia is open to financially secure foreigners who can prove an annual income of more than 20,000 euros, or more than 80,000 euros in a bank account. Under these conditions, you can get a residence permit while also having health insurance.
6. Family reunification
Family members of Ukrainians who already have a residence permit in Estonia can also apply for this status through the family reunification procedure. For this, it is necessary to provide documents confirming family ties.
In general, the process of obtaining a residence permit in Estonia involves the collection of a certain package of documents, in particular those that confirm the purpose of stay, the availability of financial resources, and the payment of state fees. Interviews with candidates may also take place.
After receiving a residence permit, Ukrainians will be able to freely work, study or do business in this technologically advanced and safe EU country. This will open good prospects for integration in new conditions.
