The process of obtaining a residence permit in this country can be difficult, but with appropriate preparation it becomes achievable. In this article, we will consider the key steps and tips for obtaining a residence permit in Greece for citizens of Ukraine.
Greece is the cradle of European civilization and the tourist pearl of the Mediterranean. During the war, this hospitable country becomes a refuge for many Ukrainians who are looking for a better fate. However, for a comfortable long-term stay on the territory of Greece, citizens of Ukraine need to obtain a legal residence permit. Let's consider the main ways of obtaining it.
1. Temporary protection for war victims
In connection with the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the Greek authorities introduced a temporary protection program for our compatriots. It provides for obtaining a residence permit for a period of up to 1 year. To do this, it is necessary to apply to the local migration department within 90 days of entry and provide documents proving identity, a certificate of a victim of war and fingerprints.
2. Employment
One of the most common ways to get a residence permit is to find a job with a Greek company. This requires a contract with a term of at least one year, a work permit from the Employment Agency, a health insurance policy and a certificate of sufficient income for living.
