Ireland is an island country with rich cultural traditions and a developed economy. This English-speaking country is attractive to Ukrainian migrants for its safe environment and high living standards. However, for a long-term legal stay on the territory of Ireland, it is necessary to officially issue a residence permit. Let's consider the main ways of obtaining it for citizens of Ukraine.
1. Temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine
In connection with the war in Ukraine, the Irish government introduced a special procedure for granting temporary protection to our compatriots. To obtain such a residence permit for a period of up to 1 year, it is necessary to apply to the Migration Service within 90 days from the moment of arrival and provide documents certifying the identity and refugee status.
2. Employment for hire
One of the most popular ways to get a residence permit is to find an employer in Ireland and be officially employed. Must have a confirmed employment contract of at least 1 year, work permit from the Irish authorities, health insurance policy, education/qualification documents and sufficient finances.
3. Entrepreneurial activity
Ukrainian entrepreneurs can register a company or register as self-employed persons on the territory of Ireland. In this case, with a business plan, confirmation of invested capital and stable income, you can apply for a residence permit for business purposes.
4. Investments in the economy
Ireland is open to foreign investors and has a residence permit scheme for those who invest €1m or more in the local economy in specified industries and create at least 10 jobs. Health insurance is also required.
5. Financially independent persons
The category of financially secure persons with an annual income or assets of more than 50,000 euros per year can also apply for an Irish residence permit if they have a health insurance policy.
6. Education
A separate student residence permit is provided for foreign students enrolled in accredited Irish universities or colleges. It is necessary to have an official invitation from the educational institution, confirmation of study funding and insurance.
In general, the procedure for obtaining a residence permit in Ireland involves collecting the necessary package of documents depending on the reason, confirming a sufficient level of funding, purchasing medical insurance, and paying administrative fees. In some cases, an interview with the candidate may be scheduled.
Having received a legal residence permit, Ukrainians will be able to live, work or do business for a long time in an economically developed English-speaking EU country with safe living conditions.
