Ukraine has a pension system for persons released from military service. This system is regulated by law and has appropriate requirements and procedures. Military personnel are entitled to pension payments according to their length of service, health and other factors taken into account in the pension legislation.
In Ukraine, the procedure for calculating years of service for persons who are entitled to a pension under the Law of Ukraine "On pension provision of persons released from military service and certain other persons" is established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This procedure determines the conditions and criteria by which years of service are taken into account for calculating pension benefits. This may include factors such as length of service in the military, specific conditions of service, and other important aspects.
Thus, the specified procedure for calculating years of service for persons who are entitled to preferential conditions of pension provision under the Law of Ukraine "On pension provision of persons released from military service and certain other persons" defines in detail which periods of service are included in years of service.
This list includes the following periods:
1. Participation in hostilities during wartime or during martial law.
2. Time of service during which the person participated in an anti-terrorist operation.
3. The period of service in the military reserve with direct participation in the specified activities, while maintaining the proportion of one month of service for three months.
4. Time of service, during which the person participated in measures related to the defense of Ukraine in case of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. These periods of service are counted in years of service according to the defined proportion of one month of service for three months.
Documents confirming separate periods of military service or service in other specified bodies, which are subject to being counted against the years of service for the purpose of pension according to the Law of Ukraine "On pension provision of persons discharged from military service and certain other persons", are determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Usually these can be the following documents:
1. Service record of the personal file: this document is the main one for the record of military service and may contain information about all periods of service, honors, awards, etc.
2. Certificates of participation in hostilities, anti-terrorist operations and other events: if a person participated in hostilities, anti-terrorist operations or other events that can be counted towards serving years, a certificate of this participation can be used as confirmation.
3. Official documents from the departments in which the person served: for example, it can be a certificate from the military commissariat, police, security service, or other units that confirm the fact that the person served in accordance with the established conditions.
4. Other documents as needed: these can be any other documents or evidence that confirm the participation of a person in certain events or periods of service that can be taken into account when calculating the years of service for pension provision.
All these documents are subject to verification and approval by the competent departments for calculating years of service and assigning a pension in accordance with the requirements of the law.
