Firearms are used in Ukraine, as in most countries of the world, as an integral part of the military, law enforcement and civil spheres.
Ukraine has legislation that regulates the carrying and use of firearms. According to it, carrying a firearm without a special permit is considered illegal. Permits to carry weapons may be issued only after appropriate verification and compliance with established procedures and requirements. Illegally carrying a firearm can have serious legal consequences, including fines or administrative and criminal penalties.
Article 263 CCU deals with illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives. This article provides for liability for such actions as the illegal production, acquisition, storage, transportation, carrying, export for the purpose of sale or sale of weapons, munitions or explosives.
According to the Criminal Code, fines or imprisonment for a term of three to five years with or without confiscation of property may be provided for these actions.
This article is aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing the illegal circulation of weapons and explosive materials that can be used for criminal activities.
Thus, in accordance with Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the illegal carrying, storage, acquisition, transfer or sale of firearms (except for smooth-bore hunting), ammunition, explosives or explosive devices without a permit provided for by law is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to seven yearsThis legislation is aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing the illegal circulation of weapons and explosive materials that can be used for criminal activities.
According to the legislation of Ukraine, carrying, manufacturing, repairing or selling cold weapons, such as daggers, Finnish knives, brass knuckles and other cold weapons, without the permission prescribed by law, can be punished by a fine of one thousand to four thousand non-taxable minimum income of citizens, community service for a period of one hundred and twenty to two hundred and forty hours, probation supervision for a period of two to five years, restriction of freedom for the same period or deprivation of liberty for a period of up to three years.
This legislation is intended to control the circulation of cold weapons and ensure public safety.
A person who voluntarily surrenders weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices to authorities is not subject to criminal liability for the actions specified in the article. This provision is aimed at encouraging citizens to voluntarily participate in disarmament and ensuring public safety.
