Firearms are used in Ukraine, as in most countries of the world, as an integral part of the military, law enforcement and civil spheres.
Ukraine has legislation that regulates the carrying and use of firearms. According to it, carrying a firearm without a special permit is considered illegal. According to the legislation of Ukraine, carrying, manufacturing, repairing or selling cold weapons, such as daggers, Finnish knives, brass knuckles and other cold weapons, without the permission prescribed by law, can be punished by a fine of one thousand to four thousand non-taxable minimum income of citizens, community service for a period of one hundred and twenty to two hundred and forty hours, probation supervision for a period of two to five years, restriction of freedom for the same period or deprivation of liberty for a period of up to three years.
