In today's digital world, the issue of personal data protection is becoming increasingly relevant, especially when it comes to children's data. Ukraine, like many countries around the world, has legislation regulating the collection, storage and use of personal information, including children's. However, despite existing regulations, violations in this area are extremely common. In this article, we will consider the essence of the problem of violation of legislation in the field of personal data of children in Ukraine, and also offer ways to solve this problem.
Violations of legislation and their consequences
The legislation of Ukraine in this area is based on the Constitution of Ukraine, the Convention on the Protection of the Rights of the Child, the Law "On the Protection of Personal Data" and other normative acts. According to this legislation, the collection and processing of personal data of children should be carried out only with the consent of their parents or persons who replace them. However, in practice, these rules are often violated.

In this regard, it is possible for hackers to access databases containing information about children, which threatens their privacy and security.This can have serious consequences for children and their families, including the possibility of blackmail, identity theft and other crimes.
Ways to solve the problem
In order to prevent violations of the legislation in the field of personal data of children in Ukraine, it is necessary to take a number of measures.
Strengthening control and supervision: State bodies should be more active in monitoring companies' compliance with legislation on personal data protection. This may include reviewing documents, analyzing data storage systems, and conducting audits.
Awareness raising: It is necessary to provide parents and guardians of children with information about their rights and the risks associated with the processing of their children's personal data. This can be done through media campaigns, school curricula and other educational activities.
Strengthening accountability: Companies that violate legislation on the protection of children's personal data must be held accountable for their actions. This may include fines, lawsuits, and other remedial measures.

Violation of legislation in the field of children's personal data in Ukraine is a serious problem that requires immediate attention and action. Strengthening controls, raising awareness and strengthening accountability can help address this problem.
