Today, considerable attention is paid to women in all spheres of activity. The IT profession is no exception. Evidence of this is the open grant for training women in the field of IT by the ACTED organization, with the financial support of the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine and Canada's International Development — Global Affairs Canada. This grant offers to receive 40,000 hryvnias for training in the field of IT.
Preference is given to women of Ukraine. it is worth noting that the chances increase if you:
• A woman who was forced to leave her home as a result of the conflict or the COVID-19 pandemic;
• A woman who has lost the opportunity to earn or a stable income due to the consequences of the conflict or the COVID-19 pandemic;
• An unemployed woman whose education does not meet the demands of the labor market in the resettlement zone or conflict-affected territories;
• Female heads of families with minor children;
• Persons with disabilities, including both women and men;
• Women who provide care for persons with disabilities, chronic diseases or the elderly;
• Single parents, regardless of gender;
• Unemployed women with an engineering education whose skills no longer meet market demands due to the popularity of other industries or due to the closure of enterprises.
How will the training take place? Courses from 3 to 12 months (optional) can be completed at relevant ACTED-designated educational institutions. By the way, these institutions are leading schools or academies.
What is the purpose of this project? Organizers and donors hope to increase the number of employed people in Ukraine. After all, someone just brings up the idea of the IT industry and there are no funds for training. Someone is already familiar with it, but there is not enough structured knowledge. And there are also experienced professionals who are not confident in their abilities and cannot find a job on the labor market because of this. All these categories have a unique opportunity to start the path to achieving their goal/dream/desire/idea.
What should be done to get such an opportunity? The main step is to register your questionnaire at the link https://ee.humanitarianresponse.info/x/9MVecsdA?fbclid=IwAR1VL9lLCqX7m5ir_zkk3iLNo4RF_RjesYQBAbnrV0Cr3HB1yDceVZ_dU38. Here you need to enter information: general information about yourself, income, vulnerability criteria, your experience and what knowledge you want to gain within the framework of this project. Here you also need to choose the period of study that will be optimal for you - from 3 to 12 months. It is also necessary to add a letter of motivation. What it is? This is a description of the reasons why you believe that you should be allocated funds for education. You can describe anything here, but the main thing is that it concerns you, your story. If you need help filling out the application, we can help you do it. On an ongoing basis, we regularly help various clients from various parts of the country to receive the desired funds.
And finally. In general, USAID grants are widespread in Ukraine. In the conditions of modern reconstruction of the country, the society should be ready to accept a powerful blow of investments. Of course, this requires knowledge. Many have the impression that the bulk of the grants are aimed at women. Actually no, there are also grants available for men. However, there are certain stereotypical prejudices that inhibit the development of women to a certain extent. For example, that a woman cannot be in a managerial position. And if it is possible, it does not end up there at such a speed. These are all myths that society actively fights against, and these grants only help in this.
