The level of productivity of employees is decreasing: how to solve this problem
Due to many factors, even the most productive employees can lose interest in work. And employers are not always to blame for this, however, in order not to lose an employee, it is they who should come to the rescue.
Factors affecting productivity
• The level of satisfaction of basic needs (quality sleep, proper nutrition, rest, safety, love).
• Lack of understanding of one's role ("How can I help the country?", "What is the benefit of my work?").
• Provision of a workplace (by turning off the light, the work process turns into stress).
"Previously, if a colleague came to the office in a sad mood because of a dispute at home or a traffic situation, other employees could support him, and in this way a quick transition to work took place. Today, the level of emotional and physical resources is reduced. That's why colleagues who were able to support before may now also need help, because the war is a big shock for everyone," says career consultant, psychologist Lyubov Shynkaryova.
And in this case, at the company level, you can think of measures to support employees (financial literacy courses, lectures on first aid, etc.), or use the following steps that can be implemented in each team:
1. Conduct dialogue and maintain contact. You should not lie and say that everything is fine in the company, if there are obvious difficulties. Instead, you can talk about what you will do next, what is the plan of action in case of emergency situations.Such a plan provides a certain situation of certainty, which helps to stabilize on an emotional level.
2. Talk about the importance of each employee's work. It is worth celebrating the successes and strengths of the employee, as well as explaining how the work of the employee is useful at the level of the department, the company and the state in general. This shows the social role of a person and is an additional motivation for work.
3. Be flexible to the needs of the employee. Consider the possibility of additional leave, change of work schedule, if the employee needs it.

4. Participate in activities. In particular, at the company level, be active in local community initiatives and invite colleagues to volunteer together. Joint activity brings the team together, and the feeling of doing a useful job adds energy, returns to values and dreams.
5. Implement bonding traditions. It can be Zoom meetings with coffee, watching movies together, photo collages that the team can prepare, meetings with the results of the month, board games or dating evenings where everyone would tell interesting facts about themselves.
6. Talk to the employee about what worries him. It significantly relieves tension when the employer takes an interest in the employee's affairs and provides certainty in the work situation at the company level. It is also important to provide feedback on work results and make plans for the quarter.
7. Take care of yourself. For the team to work effectively, it is important not to forget about yourself. After all, only by having a reserve of energy, you will be able to support employees, generate new interesting ideas and devote time to further planning. An exercise to restore resources
Having divided a sheet of paper into 3 columns, write:
• Places you would like to visit in the future that you can visit now and feel are empowering (for example, a cafe, a river, a walk in the park, etc.). You can also remember what you liked before. If there are photos of such places, look at them, or try to feel the emotions they evoked in you, recall the sounds, smells, colors of this space.
• People who inspire you, whom you admire, with whom it is pleasant to communicate, and with whom you have not spoken for a long time, but you want to call.
• Activities that are your hobbies and give you energy. Remember what you wanted to do for yourself for a long time, what you wanted to learn.
"Having such a list, take time for yourself every day and turn your ideas and wishes into reality in small steps," says Lyubov Shynkaryova.
So take care of your health and the emotional state of your employees, because mutual support, communication and help are the keys to quickly overcoming stress, and therefore to effective work.
