Border guards will not require a military ID from men who accompany people with disabilities
The spokesman of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko told the mass media that the inspectors of the State Border Service of Ukraine will not require certain persons to present military registration documents.
From May 18, 2024, inspectors of the State Border Service of Ukraine will demand military registration documents from certain categories of citizens at checkpoints.
During martial law or mobilization, Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 60 must carry these documents and identity cards to present to border guards.
Among those who must present military registration documents are:
1. Persons who have a special status during mobilization and wartime;
2. Those recognized by the medical commission as unfit for military service;
3. Men who have three or more dependent children under the age of 18;
4. Men who are raising a child on their own;
5. Those who have children under the age of 18 and a spouse serving in the military;
6. Other categories of persons defined by legislation.
However, these rules do not apply to:
1. Persons with disabilities;
2. Those who accompany persons with disabilities or children with disabilities;
3. Drivers who transport medical cargo and humanitarian aid, as well as carry out international transportation;
4. Persons holding certain positions in the civil service, employees of railway, maritime and aviation transport.
Border crossing rules for these persons remain unchanged.It is important to note that the State Border Service of Ukraine has not officially published this information on its website or in social networks.
The "Hart-1" system can automatically prohibit a person from crossing the border if the information about him matches the data in the operational bases, regardless of the certificate of unfitness for military service. This practice is confirmed by the decision of the Supreme Court.
