In its official explanation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that this restriction on the provision of services is temporary and applies only to a certain category of men.
According to the explanation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government decision limits the reception of new applicants for consular services only to men of conscription age who are abroad. Such a decision, according to the department, is temporary and aimed at improving the mechanisms of military accounting work in the context of new legislative norms. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the purpose of this temporary pause is to ensure efficient and organized provision of services to all categories of citizens in the conditions of changes in the legislative base.
An important point to note is that the restriction on the provision of consular services does not apply to emergency consular assistance in case of emergency situations, such as traffic accidents, detention or natural disasters. All such applications are considered and processed in full. In addition, men of draft age who are temporarily abroad will be able to clarify their credentials using remote means, such as an electronic cabinet.
