ʼAdvanced step: Creation of a working group to modernize the legislation on small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Parliament has once again undertaken an important task — the modernization of legislation aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses. The Committee on Economic Development of the Verkhovna Rada made a strategic decision to create a working group that will deal with the development of a new version of the Law of Ukraine "On the Development and State Support of Small and Medium Enterprises in Ukraine." This is an important step in improving the conditions for the development of small businesses and strengthening the country's economic potential.
Ihor Marchuk, an experienced specialist and head of the subcommittee on interaction between the state and business and investments, headed this initiative. His appointment guarantees due attention to the problems that concern small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine. An important stage in this process will be the inclusion of a group of representatives of entrepreneurs, associations, public organizations and other interested parties.
The purpose of creating a working group is to create a structured approach to solving the problems of small and medium-sized enterprises. This means that the work will be organized in directions that will take into account the needs and prospects of business in various spheres of the economy. An important part of this process will be legislative analysis and development of new legislative initiatives aimed at supporting and developing small and medium-sized enterprises.Synchronization of the work of the working group with the work of the Ministry of Economy on the Strategy of State Policy to Support Small and Medium Enterprises until 2027 is a key aspect of this process. Harmonization of legislation and strategic goals will create favorable conditions for the effective functioning of business and strengthening its position both in Ukraine and on the international market. The new initiative provides that the rights and obligations under the employment contracts between the employees and the employer, which existed at the time of the transfer of the business, will be preserved. This is an important step in protecting the labor rights of participants in business processes.
Also, an important part of the new draft law is the duty of the alienator and the acquirer of the business to inform the employees about all aspects of the transfer of the enterprise. It is an open and transparent mechanism that will ensure stability and increase trust between employees and business owners.
The working group plans to start its work immediately, and its results will become the basis for further legislative initiatives in the field of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. This step shows the importance of the development of the business environment in Ukraine and the readiness of the government.
