Compensation for unclaimed material property of a serviceman
Food provision of military personnel, reservists and conscripts who are called to training (or inspection) and special meetings is carried out in accordance with the norms and terms established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Legislative framework:
The Law of Ukraine "On Social and Legal Protection of Servicemen and Members of Their Families" defines the general provisions on social protection of servicemen, including material support.

The order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "On material support of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service" regulates the procedure and conditions for providing servicemen with material property, as well as compensation in case of non-receipt.
The procedure for receiving compensation:
1. Application - a serviceman must apply to his military unit with a report on unclaimed material property. The report must list the property that was not received.
2.Inspection - the command of the military unit conducts an inspection at the request of a serviceman, confirming the fact of non-receipt of property.
3. Decision - based on the inspection, the commander of the military unit makes a decision on the payment of compensation. In case of a positive decision, the relevant documents are transferred to the financial division for payment.
4. Payment of compensation - compensation is paid on the basis of the market value of the unclaimed property or in accordance with established norms.
Necessary documents:
1. Report addressed to the commander of the military unit.
2. An act of verification of the presence of material property (if such was drawn up).
3. Other supporting documents (for example, information on the receipt of property by other military personnel).
Features:
1. Compensation can be paid only for that property, which really should have been issued in accordance with the norms of provision of servicemen.
2. In case of refusal to pay compensation, the serviceman has the right to appeal to higher military administration bodies or to the court to protect his rights.
