Parking fine
Fines for improper parking in Ukraine are regulated by the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and other legal acts. Improper parking may include parking in prohibited areas, on crosswalks, sidewalks, lawns, spaces for persons with disabilities and other places where it is prohibited by the traffic rules.
Article 152-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses regulates the issue of violations of parking rules and equipment of paid parking lots. Let's consider each item in more detail:
Violation of parking rules
1. Non-payment of the cost of services for the use of the paid parking area.
2. Parking in places for free parking without corresponding benefits or in places not intended for parking of the corresponding vehicles.
Violation of parking lot equipment rules
1. Violation by an official of the requirements for the placement and operation of parking lots.
2. Non-equipment of sites for paid parking in accordance with legal requirements.
3. Repeated violation of the rules for placement and operation of sites during the year.
Special cases of parking
1. Parking in places for free parking of persons with disabilities without appropriate documents.
2.Failure to provide parking spaces for vehicles driven by drivers with disabilities or drivers transporting persons with disabilities.
3. Parking in places for parking vehicles with electric motors.
The procedure for imposing a fine
1. The violation can be detected by police patrols or parking inspectors. They can draw up protocols on administrative offenses on the spot or record violations with the help of video surveillance cameras.
2. An inspector or a police officer draws up a report on an administrative offense. The driver may be present when the report is drawn up, but it is not mandatory.
3. On the basis of the protocol, a resolution on the imposition of an administrative penalty is issued. The decision can be issued without the presence of the driver, if the violation is recorded using technical means.
4. The driver receives a notification about the imposition of a fine by mail or by other available method.
5. The fine must be paid within 15 days from the moment of receiving the resolution. If the fine is not paid on time, the amount can be increased, and the case is transferred to the enforcement service for enforcement.
Appealing the fine
Filing a complaint. The driver has the right to appeal the decision on the imposition of a fine in an administrative or judicial procedure within 10 days from the moment of receiving the decision.
Consideration of the complaint. The complaint is considered administratively by the management of the body that issued the decision, or judicially in the appropriate court.
Making a decision. Based on the results of the review of the complaint, a decision may be made to cancel, change or leave unchanged the decision on the imposition of a fine.

Parking meters and mobile applications: In many cities of Ukraine, there is a system of parking meters and mobile applications for paying for parking, which allows you to avoid fines for incorrect parking.
Information boards and signs: Always pay attention to information boards and signs that indicate permitted and prohibited parking spaces. Adherence to parking rules will not only help to avoid fines, but will also contribute to the safety and comfort of all road users.
