A full-scale war has been going on in Ukraine for more than two years. It is difficult for men aged 18 to 60 to cross the border, with the exception of persons who are exempted from service on the grounds provided for by law. A few months ago, rumors about the mobilization of men with the third group of disabilities spread through the network. In 2024, the rules for crossing the border for men with disabilities provide for the provision of a full package of documents that confirm the fact of disability and the grounds for leaving the country. A person can leave for treatment, study, work or for personal reasons.
Crossing the border of men with disabilities: what documents are required
In order for a conscripted man to have the opportunity to cross the border and leave Ukraine during martial law, he must provide the following documents during border control:
passport;
a certificate confirming the status of a person with a disability;
certificate form No. 157-1/o;
a pension certificate or other document confirming the receipt of social assistance due to disability.
At the same time, documents establishing disability must be issued in Ukraine. If the border crossing for men with disabilities of the 3rd group, it will not be possible to leave Ukraine legally.
You can leave Ukraine only on the basis of a certificate from the MSEK. As of 2024, representatives of the border guard additionally demand:
a certificate issued by the TCC and SP or an extract from the protocol on the decision to defer or remove from military registration;
military registration document with a record of suspension or cancellation of registration.
