The Cabinet of Ministers Approved the Procedure for Granting Additional Leave to Military Personnel for Destroyed Enemy Equipment
On May 21, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted resolution No. 585, which approves the procedure for granting additional leave to military personnel for the destruction of enemy equipment. This initiative aims to recognize the contributions of military personnel in defending the country and to stimulate their motivation.
Mechanism for Granting Leave
The approved procedure defines the mechanism and duration of additional leave for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations established in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, as well as special purpose law enforcement agencies, special purpose state agencies with law enforcement functions, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the intelligence agency of the Ministry of Defense.
Leave is granted to military personnel at their place of service based on orders from the heads of military administration bodies, heads of units, agencies, institutions, or establishments of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and commanders of military units. The orders must specify the grounds for granting leave and its duration. For commanders of military units, leave is granted based on orders from higher commanders.
Duration of Leave
The total duration of the additional leave must not exceed 15 calendar days per year. Military personnel can take this leave during the calendar year while maintaining their monetary allowance. The time needed for travel to the leave destination and back is not included in the leave duration but is limited to no more than two days one way. It is important that no more than 30% of the total personnel of the respective unit are absent simultaneously. You may be interested in the following articles: Analysis, consultation, evaluation. legal analysis of the situation, lawyer's consultation, lawyer's consultation, analysis of documents, legal analysis of the situation, written consultation, verification of documents by a lawyer, lawyers' documents, lawyer's help online, lawyer online, legal opinion, legal opinion of a lawyer, lawyer online.
Specifics of Granting Leave
Upon the request of the military personnel, additional leave can be granted simultaneously with the annual basic leave or part of the annual basic leave. This allows the military personnel to plan their rest more effectively and combine it with their main leaves.
It is important to note that unused days of additional leave in the current calendar year cannot be carried over to the next year. This encourages military personnel to fully utilize their leave rights within the year.
Motivation and Recognition of Merits
The introduction of this leave procedure is an important step in recognizing the merits of military personnel who bravely defend Ukraine from the enemy. Additional leave for destroyed enemy equipment not only boosts the morale of military personnel but also serves as an incentive for more effective performance of combat missions. This also contributes to enhancing the combat readiness and preparedness of the army to perform tasks to defend the state.
Support for Military Personnel and Their Families
Providing additional leave to military personnel is also a way to support their families. Time spent with loved ones helps strengthen family bonds and improve the psychological state of the military personnel. This is especially important in conditions of constant stress and tension associated with combat actions.
Conclusion
The adoption of resolution No. 585 is an important step in ensuring proper conditions for the rest of military personnel who heroically perform their duties on the frontline. Granting additional leave for destroyed enemy equipment increases the motivation of the military, supports their morale, and provides support for their families. This decision confirms the state's gratitude for the contribution of each military personnel in defending Ukraine and strengthens the coherence and combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
