Conscript women - doctors
According to the new legislation on mobilization, from May 18, 2024, all female doctors must register for military service and receive a military registration document.
Conscripted women doctors can play an important role in providing medical care to the wounded and victims of war.
In the context of the war in the east of Ukraine, the need for medical workers who participate in the medical service of the military and civilian population on the front line has increased. Medical women play an important role in this process by providing medical care to wounded warriors, performing surgeries and providing emergency medical care.
However, it is worth considering that military service, especially in the conditions of a military conflict, can be dangerous for life and health. Therefore, it is important that women doctors have adequate training, protection and support from the military and medical authorities.
Ensuring the safety and dignified participation of medical women in military operations depends to an important extent on the legal and social support of society, as well as on the development of the health care system and military service in the country.
In Ukraine, the obligation to register for military service for female doctors is determined by legislation:
- the Law of Ukraine "On Military Duty and Military Service";
- the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilization and Mobilization Training";
- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 16.05.2024 No. 563 and other normative legal acts.
According to the current legislation, women who have a medical specialty are subject to military registration.
This means that they must register for military registration and obtain appropriate military registration documents.
Basic aspects of duty
Mandatory military registration
Women with a medical education who have relevant specialties are required to register for the military. This includes doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
Military registration procedure
It is necessary to apply to the military commissariat at the place of residence. Submit the necessary documents, including a passport, identification code, medical education diploma and other documents confirming the specialty. Pass a medical examination at the military commissariat.
Obtaining military registration documents
After registration, women doctors are issued a military registration book (military card). Military registration documents must be kept and presented at the request of the relevant authorities.
Duty to notify of changes
Women who are on military registration must notify the military commissariat of a change in their place of residence, marital status, place of work or study, and other circumstances that may affect their military registration.
Liability for violations
Violation of military registration requirements is subject to administrative liability. Women who evade registration may be prosecuted under applicable law.
