Legal Guarantees of Annual Vacations for Persons with
Disability in Ukraine
Introduction
Ukrainian legislation provides for special guarantees and benefits for persons with disabilities, in particular, in the context of their right to vacation. According to the Law of Ukraine No. 504/96-ВР "On Vacations" dated November 15, 1996 (hereinafter - Law No. 504), persons with disabilities are entitled to a full paid annual vacation, regardless of the length of their employment at the company. In this article, we will consider the main provisions of the legislation governing this right, as well as other related benefits.
The main part
Right to Annual Vacation up to 6 Months of Employment
In accordance with part seven of Article 10 of Law No. 504, persons with disabilities may exercise the right to a full-year paid annual leave before the 6-month period of continuous employment at the enterprise. This provision is important for newly hired employees who need to rest and recover their health.
Choosing the time of vacation
Part fourteen of Article 10 of Law No. 504 provides that annual leave for persons with disabilities is granted at the request of the employee at a time convenient for him or her. This provision provides for flexibility in vacation planning for this category of employees.

Duration of Annual Basic Leave
According to Article 6 of Law No. 504, the duration of annual basic leave for employees with disabilities is as follows:
- for persons with disabilities of groups I and II - 30 calendar days;
- for persons with disabilities of group III - 26 calendar days.
Leave without pay
The legislation also provides for the possibility of unpaid leave for persons with disabilities at their request. In accordance with paragraphs 6 and 7 of part 1 of Article 25 of Law No. 504, such leave is granted:
- for persons with disabilities of group III - for up to 30 calendar days annually;
- for persons with disabilities of groups I and II - for up to 60 calendar days annually.
Benefits and Guarantees for Persons with Disabilities
Ukrainian legislation provides a number of benefits and guarantees for persons with disabilities in order to prevent discrimination in the labor market and to fully exercise their labor rights. The implementation of these provisions in practice contributes to the creation of favorable conditions for the work and recreation of persons with disabilities.
Conclusion.
The Law of Ukraine "On Leaves" provides important guarantees for persons with disabilities, including the right to a full paid annual leave of absence before reaching the 6-month period of continuous employment, the possibility to choose a convenient time for the leave, and longer leaves for different disability groups. In addition, there is a possibility to take unpaid leave. These provisions are aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for persons with disabilities, protecting their rights and improving working conditions.
