The financial support of military personnel in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine has undergone significant changes and additions to take into account the increased risks and burdens that the service bears at this time. Key aspects include the following:
- Basic salary:
• The basic salary of military personnel consists of the salary according to the military rank and the salary according to the position, an allowance for years of service.
• Years of service and additional allowances are also taken into account, depending on the specifics of the service (for example, for service in conditions of increased risk).
Allowances and bonuses:
• Allowance for the performance of combat tasks.
• Awards for excellent service.
• Additional payments for service in the combat zone (this can be a fixed amount or a percentage of the basic salary).
Financial aid:
• One-time assistance in case of injury, contusion or mutilation received during the performance of official duties.
• Payments in the event of the death of a serviceman (paid to the family).
Social guarantees:
• Provision of housing or monetary compensation for housing rent.
• Free medical care.
• Education benefits for servicemen and their children.
• Retirement benefits, which may be increased in case of participation in hostilities.
Payments during mobilization:
• Special allowances and compensations for mobilized military personnel.
• Guarantees of job security and average earnings for mobilized workers.
Additional payments under martial law:
• Additional allowances for staying in the zone of active hostilities.
• Payments for the successful completion of combat missions or for special achievements.

Compensation for non-received material property / payment of monetary compensation for non-received material property - Payment of monetary compensation for unreceived tangible property / compensation for unreceived property - Depending on specific conditions and circumstances, there may be other forms of monetary support and social protection established by relevant laws and regulations of the Government of Ukraine.
Material assistance for solving social and household issues, which is paid to military personnel in the amount of a monthly allowance, only if there are the following grounds:
- 1. Death of a serviceman, his wife (husband), children and parents of a serviceman.
2. Injuries (contusions, traumas, mutilations) of a serviceman related to protection, received while performing tasks during martial law.
3. If the serviceman has a disability resulting from a defense-related injury (contusion, injury, mutilation).
4. Violation of the health of a serviceman, his stay in treatment, rehabilitation, which is confirmed by relevant medical documents (discharge epicrisis, disease certificate, decision of the military medical commission), namely cancer (surgical treatment, radiation and (or) chemotherapy ); tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis B, C; continuous stay in treatment, rehabilitation or on leave for treatment due to illness, which are related to protection (more than 30 days in a row), due to injuries, diseases of the nervous, cardiovascular systems, musculoskeletal system and other diseases of organs and systems with a severe course or consequences requiring multi-stage surgical treatment, prosthetics of the lost limb(s), endoprosthesis, organ transplantation, individual care, anti-relapse treatment with long-term use of expensive drugs;
5. To the families of servicemen who were captured (except servicemen who surrendered voluntarily) or hostages, as well as interned in neutral states or recognized as missing.
Compensation for non-received property - To receive material assistance, a serviceman must submit an appropriate application to his command, attaching to it the necessary documents that confirm the existence of grounds for receiving assistance. The decision to provide material assistance is made by the command based on the submitted documents and the circumstances of the specific case.
During the period of martial law, military personnel in Ukraine are paid an additional monthly bonus. The size of this remuneration is determined depending on the conditions of service and tasks performed. The main categories and corresponding amounts of additional rewards include:
- 1. Military personnel directly participating in hostilities:
Additional remuneration in the amount of up to 100,000 hryvnias per month. This reward is paid for each month of participation in hostilities, depending on the specific conditions and degree of risk.
2. Military personnel who perform tasks in the combat zone, but do not directly participate in combat operations:
Additional remuneration in the amount of up to 70,000 hryvnias per month. This award is paid for service in a combat zone, but does not include direct participation in hostilities.
3. Military personnel who are not involved in hostilities, but serve in high-risk conditions in the hostilities zone:
Additional remuneration in the amount of up to 30,000 hryvnias per month. This applies to military personnel who perform tasks in a high-risk area, but without direct participation in hostilities.
4. Other categories of servicemen:
The amount of additional remuneration may vary depending on specific conditions of service and government regulations or command orders.
These additional rewards are intended to increase the motivation of military personnel and compensate for the increased risk and burden they face during martial law.
