How to get the status of a participant in hostilities
1. Introduction
The status of a participant in hostilities (UBD) in Ukraine is granted to military personnel, law enforcement officers and other persons who took a direct part in hostilities. This status provides a number of social benefits and guarantees. 2. Legislative framework
2.1. Basic normative acts

3.3. Other categories
Other categories of persons who have the right to receive the status of UBD include:
Employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations that were involved in the performance of tasks in the conditions of hostilities.
Volunteers who took part in hostilities.
4.Procedure for obtaining UBD status
4.1. Preparation of documents
To obtain the status of a participant in hostilities, it is necessary to prepare the following documents:
Application for UBD status.
Documents confirming participation in hostilities:
Orders on involvement in hostilities.
Certificates on the execution of combat tasks.
Other official documents confirming participation in hostilities.
Copy of passport and identification code.
Military ID card or other document confirming military service.
4.2. Application submission
The application and the necessary documents should be submitted to the relevant body that makes the decision to grant the status of the UBD. It may be:
Military unit (for servicemen).
Bodies of social protection of the population.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine or another relevant body (depending on the applicant's reporting).
4.3. Application review and decision making
