Benefits for participants in hostilities
1. Introduction
Combatants in Ukraine are entitled to various social benefits and guarantees aimed at supporting them and their families. These benefits are defined by legislation and are provided in order to ensure social protection of persons who took part in hostilities. Below are the main benefits that combatants can claim.

2.1. Legislative framework
The main normative acts regulating benefits for combatants include:
Law of Ukraine "On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection".
Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On approval of the Procedure for granting the status of a participant in hostilities".
3. List of benefits for combatants
3.1. Health care
Free medical care in state and communal health care institutions.
Preferential provision of medicines according to doctors' prescriptions.
Free dentures (with the exception of dentures made of precious metals).
3.2. Housing benefits
Priority provision of housing for those who need to improve living conditions.
50% discount on the payment of housing and communal services (gas, electricity, heating, water supply and drainage, rent) for a participant in hostilities and members of his family living with him.
Exemption from payment of land tax.
3.3. Transport benefits
Free travel by all types of city passenger transport (except taxis), as well as by rail, water, suburban road transport.Free travel once a year (there and back) by rail, water, air or road intercity transport.
3.4. Social benefits
Additional leave lasting 14 calendar days per year with retention of salary.
The primary right to provision of sanatorium-resort treatment or to receive compensation for the cost of such treatment.
Free receipt of professional rehabilitation, retraining and employment services.
Preferential taxation: exemption from payment of certain types of taxes and fees.
