Temporary foreign passport
Foreign passport of Ukraine is an official document issued to citizens of Ukraine to travel abroad. It contains information about the owner's identity, including name, surname, date of birth, photo and other identification data. A foreign passport enables its holder to cross borders and visit other countries for tourist, business or other purposes.
According to the legislation of Ukraine, the foreign passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad can be issued for different periods depending on the age of the person:
Passports are issued to children from birth to 16 years of age for a period of 4 years.
Citizens of Ukraine over the age of 16 receive a passport for a period of 10 years.
These different terms for issuing passports are due to the fact that individuals from birth to 16 years of age grow rapidly and may undergo changes in their appearance, so their passports are issued for a short period of time to ensure the relevance of information and photos. Citizens who have reached the age of 16 receive passports for a longer period due to the lower probability of drastic changes in their appearance.The list of documents that are usually required to issue a foreign passport in Ukraine:
- the main document that confirms your identity - passport;
- TIN - used to identify citizens in tax and other state systems;
- if you already had foreign passports, you may need their information to issue a new passport;
- if you are issuing a passport for a child, documents confirming his identity and status may be required;
- if your international passport has been lost or damaged, you may need to report its loss in order to issue a new one;
- if you claim the loss of a foreign passport, an extract from the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations may be required to confirm the loss of the document.

Get your passport quickly
An urgent foreign passport for traveling abroad can be obtained within a shorter period if there are compelling circumstances, such as an urgent medical necessity or the death of a relative abroad. In such cases, according to the legislation of Ukraine, the passport can be produced within up to 7 working days, or even up to 3 working days if there are relevant grounds.
The cost of obtaining an urgent passport is UAH 1,598, but the price may change over time in accordance with changes in legislation. Such urgent services usually cost more due to the additional costs of speedy production and processing of documents.
