Ukrainian law does not allow dual citizenship, so persons with dual citizenship of the United States and Ukraine aged 18 to 60 may not be able to travel abroad.

According to the diplomatic representatives, until now, individuals in this group with dual U.S.-Ukrainian citizenship could cancel their registration at their place of residence in Ukraine and declare their residence in the United States, allowing them to return to Ukraine and then leave.
According to the embassy, this exception was canceled on June 1, 2024. At the same time, there was no corresponding statement by the Ukrainian authorities regarding the ban on the departure of dual citizens.

According to the Ministry, to register for the exam, you need to create an electronic account and submit applications electronically; a detailed algorithm will be published later.
The exam consists of 20 questions on the fundamentals of the Constitution of Ukraine and 25 questions on the history of Ukraine.
The exam will be recorded on video to ensure transparency.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate.
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada supported in the first reading a draft law on granting Ukrainian citizenship to foreigners serving in the Armed Forces, state special transport and the National Guard.
