How to Get Personal Injury Payments
Receiving benefits in connection with injury during military service is an important aspect of social protection for military personnel. In this article, we will consider the main steps and requirements for receiving such payments in Ukraine.
Basic Steps for Receiving Payments
1. Message of the Command
After receiving an injury, it is necessary to immediately inform the command about the event. This will allow documenting the fact of receiving an injury and its circumstances.
2. Medical Examination
A military serviceman must undergo a medical examination at a military medical institution. Doctors must provide a medical opinion on the nature and extent of the injury. This examination is the basis for further processing of documents for receiving payments.
3. Obtaining a Medical Opinion
Based on the examination, the military medical commission (MMC) issues a medical report confirming the fact of the injury, its degree and impact on the serviceman's ability to work.
4. Collection of Necessary Documents
To receive payments, you must collect the following documents:
Medical opinion of VLK.
Certificate on the circumstances of the injury.
Copy of military ticket.
Passport and identification code (copies).
Application for receiving payments.
5. Submission of Documents
The collected documents must be submitted to the military unit or to the relevant social security body. The application for receiving payments is submitted together with all the collected documents.
6. Review of the Application
After submitting the documents, the relevant body checks and reviews the application.A military serviceman may be called for an additional examination or to provide additional documents.
7. Receiving the Payment Decision
After reviewing the application, a decision is made on the assignment of payments. The serviceman receives a corresponding notification about the appointment of payments and their amount.
8. Receiving Payments
Payments can be made through banking institutions or other methods provided by law. The military serviceman receives funds in accordance with the assigned amounts.
Types of Payments in Connection with Injury
One-time financial assistance
Military personnel who were injured in the line of duty may be entitled to a one-time cash benefit. The amount of this assistance depends on the severity of the injury and is established by legislation.
Monthly Payments
Depending on the degree of disability, servicemen may receive monthly payments. These can be disability pensions or other social benefits.
Compensation for Treatment
Military personnel have the right to compensation for the costs of treatment and rehabilitation. This may include the cost of medications, medical procedures, prosthetics, and other necessary measures.
Social Benefits
Wounded military personnel may also be eligible for various welfare benefits, such as disability benefits
