Patenting and quotas of economic activity in Ukraine
Patenting and quotas of economic activity are important mechanisms for regulating economic activity, which are used in many countries of the world, including Ukraine. These tools help control output, maintain competition, protect intellectual property, and enforce international obligations. In this article, we will consider the main aspects of patenting and quotas of economic activity in Ukraine, their importance for entrepreneurs and the necessary steps for obtaining patents and quotas.
1. Quota of economic activity
Quota is the process of setting limits by the state on the volume of production or provision of services in certain sectors of the economy. The main purpose of quotas is market regulation, support of national producers, consumer protection, as well as implementation of international trade agreements.
In Ukraine, quotas are applied to various types of economic activity, including:
• Production and export of strategically important goods (for example, grain crops, metals).
• Introduction of quotas on the import of certain goods to protect domestic producers.
• Regulation of fishing and use of natural resources.
Normative acts regulating quotas in Ukraine include the Laws of Ukraine "On Foreign Economic Activity", "On State Regulation of Import of Agricultural Products" and resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which determine quotas and the order of their distribution.
2.Patenting of economic activity
Patenting is the process of obtaining a protective document (patent) for an invention, utility model or industrial design, which provides its owner with the exclusive right to use the invention. Patenting allows you to protect intellectual property, stimulate innovation and technological development.
In Ukraine, the following are subject to patenting:
• Inventions and useful models in various fields of science and technology.
• Industrial samples that determine the appearance of products.
Regulation of patenting is carried out in accordance with the Laws of Ukraine "On Protection of Rights to Inventions and Utility Models", "On Protection of Rights to Industrial Designs" and other normative legal acts. Patents are issued by the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Institute of Intellectual Property" (Ukrpatent).
