Basic grounds for obtaining a residence permit in Portugal

Work: a residence permit can be granted to Ukrainians who have a work contract with a Portuguese employer. A work permit issued by the Directorate-General for Migration and Border Protection should be obtained.

Education: Ukrainian students who have entered Portuguese educational institutions can obtain a residence permit for the duration of their studies. It is necessary to have confirmation of enrollment in studies, as well as sufficient financial resources for living in the country.

The procedure for obtaining a residence permit

1. 2. Examination of the application: the examination process may take several weeks to several months, depending on the basis and scope of the documents submitted; in some cases, interviews may be conducted.
3. Extension of the residence permit: the residence permit is extended subject to compliance with all the requirements for which it was issued; the submission of an application for extension must take place before the expiration of the valid permit.

Obtaining a residence permit in Portugal is available to Ukrainians, but requires proper preparation of documents and compliance with requirements. The choice of the basis for obtaining a permit depends on your individual circumstances, such as the purpose of staying in the country and your financial capabilities.

Portugal offers several types of visas for obtaining a Portuguese residence permit including:

• Residence permit in Portugal for freelancer: obtaining a residence permit in Portugal for a freelancer is possible through special visa and immigration programs that allow foreigners to legally work remotely from Portuguese territory. 4. 5. Documents are obtained only after completing all the above procedures and successfully obtaining a residence permit.
