Practicing attorney and lawyer with more than 12 years of practical experience in various branches of law
The year 2023 is coming to an end. I would like to create some New Year mood and give some legal predictions, what to expect in the next year and what actions to take to make it as prosperous as possible.
Whether to Expect Peace
- For some reason I want to start on a pleasant note.
- I cannot answer this question exactly, but I really want to believe that in 2024 peace will finally come and all this war, mobilization and other chaos and destruction will end.
- And we will live in a new beautiful world.
- Let's all dream about it, and let's see what happens.
- At the same time, any peace is some kind of global change.
- So keep in order or restore all your basic documents, or make scanned copies of them and store them somewhere on cloud storage.
- Just in case all the registries accidentally go down and data gets lost. I'm not saying that's what's going to happen. But that's what we like to do. And to avoid a long and tedious run through the courts, you need to be prepared for it.
Mobilization and summonses
Alas, this will continue for some time. It is not excluded that they will tighten the rules of deferment from draft and toughen the responsibility for failure to appear in the military enlistment office. But I hope very much that it will not be as planned in the bills from Bezuglaya. And there we'll see.
Birth of children, inheritance
- Someone is born, someone dies, the normal course of life. But in the sphere of current events it is complicated by the fact that everyone is born and dies in different countries and on different territories, both controlled by Ukraine and not.
- And to keep all documents in order, if you have any event outside Ukraine, the fact of birth or death must be legalized here. It is necessary to obtain birth and death certificates, which can be done remotely. But often it is done through the court.
And then, if we are talking about a deceased relative, within 6 months, you need to accept the inheritance. To then long not to sue and not to restore the terms, which is not easy.
Taxes and fees
The minimum wage and the minimum subsistence wage will increase. But at the same time taxes will increase.
- And with the fact that for all but residents of the war zone and territories outside of Ukrainian control the main benefits have been canceled, it may be significant.
- It is now possible not to pay for yourself only the unified social tax and only for yourself. But then there will be no pensionable service.
- For hired workers you have to pay the unified social tax. And it will amount to a minimum of UAH 1562 per month.
- The single tax and the obligation to install ERO and penalties for its absence is now for everyone. Except for the residents of the combat zone and uncontrolled territories, who still have favorable conditions.
At the same time, let us live and believe in the best. It is necessary to be aware of all the changes, but there is no need to panic.
Protection of dignity, lifting of arrest, legal analysis, representation of your interest in coourt is what you can get from the lawyer.
