Medical benefits for military personnel

The Law "On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection" contains general provisions.

Article 12 of this law lists benefits that can be divided into several categories, including medical services:

• Free drugs, immunobiological drugs and prescription medical devices.
• Primary free dentures (except for dentures made of precious metals).
• Access to polyclinics and hospitals upon retirement or change of place of work, with which the person was attached at the previous place of work.
• Primary service in medical and preventive facilities and pharmacies, as well as primary hospitalization.

Housing benefits for military personnel

For combatants, housing benefits include significant discounts on housing and utilities. In particular, the following are provided:

• 75% discount on housing payments: The state compensates 75% of the cost at the rate of 21 square meters for each family member permanently living in an apartment or house, plus an additional 10.5 square meters for family.
• 75% discount on utilities: Includes discounts on gas, electricity and domestic LPG.
• 75% discount on fuel: For people living in houses without central heating, including liquid fuel.
• Extraordinary use of communication services: Includes preferential terms for installing apartment telephones (20% of the tariffs for basic services and 50% for additional works), as well as 50% discount on the subscription fee.< /li>

Military servicemen who became disabled during service and their families are given a 50% discount on utilities. To receive this benefit, you need to contact the service center of the Pension Fund or submit an application online.

Travel allowances for combatants

Combatants have the right to free travel in city and suburban transport, as well as on railway and water transport. Free travel on intercity buses and rail transport (there and back) is available once every two years. If this benefit is used more often, the fare will be paid with a 50% discount.

To use the benefit, you need to present a document confirming the status of the beneficiary. Carriers may demand payment for services if this document is not presented or if the passenger violates the rules of public order or is in a state of alcohol intoxication. At the same time, the driver does not have the right to independently determine the number of seats for beneficiaries in the transport.

Combatants and veterans are entitled to a number of labor and educational benefits

Military benefits cover both employment and educational opportunities. Military personnel have a priority right to keep their jobs during downsizing and may be employed in the event of liquidation of an enterprise or organization. The same right extends to their spouses.

In addition, military personnel have the opportunity to use annual leave at a time convenient for them and receive additional leave with pay for 14 calendar days annually. Payments for temporary disability are made in the amount of 100% of the average salary, regardless of length of service.
