About raising the minimum wage
The minimum wage is the legally established minimum wage for the monthly (hourly) rate of work performed by an employee.
The minimum wage is set simultaneously in monthly and hourly amounts.

In accordance with Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine dated November 9, 2023 No. 3460-IX "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024", from April 1, 2024, the monthly minimum wage will be UAH 8,000, and the hourly wage will be UAH 48.
In connection with the increase in the minimum wage, the rates of tariff rates and salaries for economic entities, the conditions of payment of which are determined based on the minimum wage, are subject to recalculation.
The subsistence minimum will not change and will remain valid until the end of the current year in the following amount:
– for children under 6 years of age – UAH 2,563;
– for children aged 6 to 18 years – UAH 3,196;
– for able-bodied persons – UAH 3,028;
- for persons who have lost their ability to work, - UAH 2,361.
The general indicator of the subsistence minimum per person per month is UAH 2,920.

According to Article 3-1 of the Law of Ukraine of March 24, 1995 No. 108/95-VR "On wages", the amount of an employee's salary for a fully completed monthly (hourly) rate of work cannot be lower than the amount of the minimum wage.
When calculating the amount of an employee's salary to ensure its minimum amount, additional payments for work in unfavorable working conditions and increased risk to health, for work at night and overtime, traveling nature of work, bonuses for holidays and anniversaries are not taken into account.
If the accrued salary of an employee who has completed the monthly work rate is lower than the legally established amount of the minimum wage, the employer makes an additional payment to the level of the minimum wage, which is paid monthly at the same time as the salary is paid.
If the amount of wages due to the frequency of payment of its components is lower than the amount of the minimum wage, an additional payment is made to the level of the minimum wage.
Part-time work
In the case of concluding an employment contract for part-time work, as well as in the event that the employee does not fulfill the full monthly (hourly) work rate, the minimum wage is paid in proportion to the completed work rate.! Failure to comply with the minimum state guarantees in the payment of labor is a gross violation of labor legislation, for which employers are liable in the form of a fine - in the amount of twice the minimum wage established by law at the time of discovery of the violation, for each employee in respect of whom the violation was committed.
