Registration of residence permit in EU countries. Lithuania is a country with a rich historical heritage, beautiful natural landscapes and dynamic economic development. For many citizens of Ukraine, obtaining a residence permit in Lithuania is an important goal for the realization of personal ambitions and professional goals. The process of obtaining a residence permit in Lithuania can seem complicated, but with the right information and preparation, it becomes achievable. In this article, we will consider the key aspects and tips for obtaining a residence permit in Lithuania for citizens of Ukraine.

Lithuania is a Baltic state that is a member of the European Union and NATO. This country is characterized by high economic indicators and a safe environment. During the war, many Ukrainians see Lithuania as a safe haven. However, for a comfortable long-term stay on its territory, citizens of Ukraine need to officially issue a residence permit. Let's consider the main ways of obtaining it.

1. Temporary residence permit for refugees
In connection with the military aggression of the Russian Federation, the Lithuanian government granted Ukrainians the right to receive a special temporary residence permit. To do this, you need to contact the Migration Department within 180 days after entry and provide documents certifying your identity, a refugee status certificate, and fingerprints. The term of validity is up to 1 year with the possibility of extension.

2. Employment under an employment contract
One of the most popular ways to get a residence permit in Lithuania is to find an official job. For this, it is necessary to have a confirmed employment contract for at least 1 year, an employment permit from the State Employment Service, certificates of education/qualification, a health insurance policy, and a tax card.

3. Entrepreneurial activity
Ukrainian entrepreneurs can open their own business in Lithuania by registering a company or operating as a self-employed person. In order to obtain a residence permit, you need to provide a business plan, confirm the availability of investments to start the business, have documents on commercial activity and health insurance.

4. Training
Foreign students enrolled in accredited Lithuanian universities and higher professional schools can obtain a separate student residence permit. It is necessary to provide documents on enrollment, financing of education and accommodation, health insurance policy.

5. Property owners
Foreigners who own residential real estate in Lithuania worth more than 260,000 euros have the right to receive a residence permit. In addition, medical insurance and financial solvency are required.

6. Financially independent persons
The rights of financially independent persons to receive GNP are taken into account, if they have annual income or assets in a bank account in Lithuania of at least 13 thousand euros. A health insurance policy is also mandatory.

In general, the process of issuing a residence permit involves the collection of a package of documents certifying the reason for staying in Lithuania (work, study, own business, etc.), proof of financial solvency, purchase of medical insurance, payment of necessary fees. Foreigners may be interviewed.

Having received a residence permit, Ukrainians will be able to openly live, work or do business in an economically stable and safe Baltic country, a member of the EU and NATO.
