A permanent residence permit is a document that confirms a foreigner's right to live in Ukraine without time limits. A permanent resident permit is granted under immigration law and is governed by the relevant rules and procedures.
In order to obtain a permanent residence permit, a foreigner must usually have a legal basis for residence in Ukraine, usually a marriage with a citizen of Ukraine or other family ties, as well as meet other requirements established by law. The procedure for obtaining a permanent residence permit can be complicated and lengthy, and requires the submission of various documents and the passing of appropriate checks.
Thus, according to Ukrainian legislation, a person who has received permission to immigrate and permanently resides outside of Ukraine can apply to a diplomatic mission or consular institution of Ukraine abroad to obtain a long-term visa. This allows her to enter the territory of Ukraine for the purpose of moving and starting permanent residence.
The procedure for obtaining a residence permit in Ukraine usually includes submitting the necessary documents, including an immigration permit and other identification and personal documents. After obtaining a visa, a person can enter the territory of Ukraine in accordance with the procedures and conditions established by law.
After the immigrant has arrived in Ukraine, he must immediately apply to the central executive body that implements the state policy in the field of migration to obtain a permanent residence permit. This must be done no later than 15 working days before the expiration of the long-term visa or temporary stay/residence.
When submitting an application for a permanent residence permit, an immigrant must present the original and a copy of his/her passport document with a long-term visa affixed to it (if any), as well as a copy of the decision to grant an immigration permit.
This process allows you to officially legalize the status of an immigrant in the country and obtain a permanent residence permit, which gives the right to permanent residence in Ukraine without time limits.
A person who is legally in Ukraine and has received a permit to immigrate must apply to the central executive body that implements the state policy in the field of migration no later than 15 working days before the end of the established period of temporary stay/residence.
During the application, a person or his legal representative must submit an application or a questionnaire for the issuance of a permanent residence permit. This application or questionnaire is accompanied by the necessary documents, such as a copy of the immigration permit and other identification documents.
To issue a permanent residence permit in Ukraine, the means of the Unified State Demographic Register (UDDR) are used. This means that information about an immigrant who obtains permanent resident status is entered into this registry for further monitoring and administration. EDDR in Ukraine is a centralized database that stores information about citizens, registration of place of residence, submission of documents and other important data. The use of EDDR tools to issue a permanent residence permit allows for the consolidation and up-to-dateness of data on immigrants, which simplifies the process of administration and control over their residence in the country.
It also helps reduce administrative procedures and improves the effectiveness of migration policy and control over migration processes in Ukraine.
In order to obtain a permanent residence permit in Ukraine, an immigrant must submit an application-questionnaire to the central executive body that implements the state policy in the field of migration no later than within one year from the date of obtaining the immigration permit.
After the central executive authority accepts the necessary documents from the immigrant, a permanent residence permit must be issued within 15 working days. This term is provided for the processing of documents and the issuance of a permit.
Obtaining a permanent residence permit allows an immigrant to legalize his status in the country and obtain the right to permanent residence in Ukraine without time limits.
