Childcare leave up to the age of 3: everything you need to know
Parental leave before the child reaches the age of three is an important period in the life of every family. This leave allows parents or guardians to provide adequate care for the child in the first years of its life. In this article, we will consider the main aspects of the registration and use of this vacation in Ukraine.
Who is entitled to leave?
The following have the right to take care of a child under 3 years of age:
One of the parents (mother or father).
Guardian.
Other relatives who actually take care of the child, provided that the parents are working.
Duration of vacation
Child care leave is granted until the child reaches the age of three. If the child needs additional care for medical reasons, the leave can be extended up to 6 years based on a medical opinion.

Return to work
At the end of the vacation, the employee has the right to return to his position. For this, it is necessary to submit an application for leaving work.
