In Ukraine, deferment from conscription for military service is granted on the basis of the law "On Military Duty and Military Service". Here is the postponement registration algorithm.
- 1. Determination of grounds for postponement.
Check whether you fall under one of the grounds for deferment of the draft provided by law. These grounds include:
• State of health (temporary unfitness for military service).
• Family circumstances (presence of dependent dependent relatives, wife's pregnancy, etc.).
• Education (studying in higher educational institutions or postgraduate studies).
• Professional activity (certain categories of employees, for example, teachers, scientists, etc.).
2. Collection of necessary documents.
Depending on the reason, prepare the relevant documents. These can be:
Collection of a package of documents for registration of postponement;
Appeal to the TCC and JV at the place of registration for registration of deferment;
Passing of the VLK for the referral of TCC and SP;
Receiving the results of the postponement.
3. Submission of an application to the Military Committee.
Write a statement in the name of the head of the military commissariat about granting a postponement. In the application, it is necessary to specify:
• Personal data (name, date of birth, address).
• Grounds for postponement.
• List of attached documents.
4. Examination of the application by the commission.
Your application will be considered by the military medical commission or another relevant commission under the military commissariat. The commission has the right to:
• Approve the postponement.
• Refuse to grant a deferment and call you into service.
5. Obtaining a decision.
Receive a written decision from the military commissariat to grant or deny a deferment. If a deferment is granted, you are exempt from the draft for a specified period.
6. Appealing the decision (if necessary).If you have been denied a deferment and you do not agree with the decision, you have the right to challenge it in court.
