Burial Benefit Application

Due to the death of a serviceman, certain bodies, in particular military formations, are obliged to provide assistance and compensate for the costs associated with the burial of a serviceman.

According to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 829 dated May 22, 2000, military formations are obliged to provide families and parents of servicemen who died (deceased) during military service with assistance in carrying out burial and compensate for the material costs of ritual services and the construction of gravestones in the amount of five subsistence minimums per month per person established by law on the date of death of a serviceman.

An application for a funeral allowance involves the application of one of the family members of the deceased with the addition of a separate package of necessary documents.

The impossibility of proper and timely processing of appeals, requests and responses is due to the fact that state bodies, local governments, in accordance with the provisions of Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Legal Regime of Martial Law", primarily take measures necessary to prevent the threat, repel armed aggression and ensuring national security.

It should be noted that the necessary documents may be sent to the applicant in violation of the statutory period of one calendar month.
