Lawyer for the protection of business reputation: actions of a lawyer
Article 270 of the Civil Code of Ukraine establishes that a resident person has the right to respect for personal honor, business reputation, and dignity. In addition, articles 297 as well as 299 provide that every resident has the right to protect them for reasons of inviolability. Therefore, if necessary, a person can apply to the judicial authorities with a lawsuit and demand compensation from the defendant for the damage caused. At the same time, it should be understood that the current Ukrainian legislation does not contain precise definitions of the concepts of dignity, business reputation and honor, as they belong to moral and at the same time are personal rights.
