The issue of labor relations in Ukraine remains quite relevant in the conditions of martial law.
- Yes, quite a significant number of appeals to state bodies on labor issues relate specifically to the protection of the rights of employees due to relevant violations of labor legislation by employers.
- With this in mind, the Ministry of Economy prepared a new draft of the Ukrainian Code of Labor Laws.
- This news was published by the First Deputy Prime Minister.
The need to update the new labor legislation has been around for quite a long time, because as of today, the norms of the Labor Code of 1971 (with amendments) are in force in Ukraine, on the basis of which the modern labor market operates.
- Even despite the modern new changes to such a code, it cannot meet the modern requirements of labor relations, which leads to inhibition of the development of the economy as well.
- Thus, in the new code it is planned to legalize various modern forms of employment of the population.
- First of all, we are talking about work with non-fixed working hours, home and remote work, because in today's conditions, the demand for such forms of work is one of the most urgent.
It is also planned to implement electronic measures to collect the necessary information about employees, because the goal here is also to abolish paper work books.
- The issue of combating mobbing and other important aspects of the protection of workers' rights are also included in the new draft of the modern labor code, because as the ministry notes, the main goal of such new changes is to create all the conditions for unhindered work and the fulfillment of all labor duties of employees.
- It should also be noted the reform of approaches to state procurement through cooperation with institutions of higher education, as it is believed that this can be a positive aspect in the fight against unemployment in Ukraine.
- This will be implemented through the minimization of state orders in institutions of higher education, but there will be an opportunity to receive grants for studies and an interesting profession for students.
- In addition, it is planned to reform the public employment service bodies by switching to a service-oriented model of developed capital and, accordingly, support for socially vulnerable segments of the population.
- This reform will involve the digitization of most processes in the field of labor law and cooperation with many training companies, which in particular deal with recruitment issues.
Cooperation (partnership) with such public organizations working on social projects will be carried out. In addition, an increase in the amount of state support for business is expected, and employers will be able to receive appropriate compensation for presenting and arranging inclusive workplaces.
- The YeRobota project provides for the allocation of fifteen thousand grants, which will be allocated for a person's own business, as well as grants for veterans (men and women), their spouses, and the allocation of grants for processing enterprises.
- The Ministry of Economy emphasizes that, as of today, there is a need in Ukraine for such professions as engineers, military personnel of various specialties, technical specialists of the defense-industrial complex, medical workers, psychologists and educators, and other important specialists.
